What is Student Ministry?
The Student Ministry at Open Door desires to see students walk faithfully with the Lord over the course of a lifetime. We do this through loving God, loving others, and going with His gospel.
What We Do
We teach students the value of God's Word through our Sunday and Tuesday group time so that they can apply it to their lives.
Equip Groups are groups of 1 volunteer and 2-3 students that meet biweekly for 1 hour. These groups focus on life on life discipleship, particularly in the areas of prayer, meditation, and memorization. Open Door Student Equip Groups consist of a volunteer and students of the same gender, students of the same grade level (ie. all middle school or all high school), no more than 3 students, and conversations between Equip Group leaders, students, and their parents Equip Groups will meet on the off week from their respective Care Groups. For Middle School, this means that Equip Groups will meet on the 1st and 3rd weeks of the month, and High School Equip Groups will meet on the 2nd and 4th weeks of the month. The Equip Group leader will work with their students and parents to determine which nights will work best for the group to meet.
Our Bible Fellowship class is an opportunity for students and families to study God's Word together on Sunday morning. Currently, we offer an 11am class in the Mirror Room (Room 204). This class offers a time of fellowship followed by discussion and study of a biblical passage.
United is a weekly worship gathering on Sunday nights in the Student Center from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. This is a time where students in 6th-12th grade can come to fellowship in song, games, and preaching of the Word.
